Maturation of bananas
Maturation of bananas is performed in modern maturation chambers of DE LAAT a Dutch company, and EHO, a Slovenian company.
They are the state-of-the-art technological facilities for maturation of bananas, with which maturation of bananas is computer managed and controlled.
Before maturation, an in-depth inspection of bananas in terms of their maturity, mechanical and biological damage, humidity and thermal parameters is performed. This prevents from maturation of bananas not meeting the customer’s requirements and shipping undesirable goods.
After the maturation process, which lasts 4-6 days, we perform another quality inspection of bananas prior to their shipping so that they would meet the individual customers’ maturity and quality requirements. The staff in each maturity centre look after these parameters.
Bananas are matured in the maturation centres in Nehvizdy, Terezín and Valašském Meziříčí. In the exposed weeks (promotion), we are able to mature up to 60,000 cartons a week.
Bananas are sold at the required maturity or we mature bananas for customers in service. This form of collaboration is largely preferred by food chains.
